Here is the plot to Episode I, taken from a number of sources too numerous to mention here. For those people who bawl their eyes out over spoilers leave now.

The planet Naboo is under attack by the Trade Fedaration. Two representitives from the New Republic are sent to mediate. Two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, are met onboard the Trade Fedaration ship by a silver protocol Droid, TC-3.

TC-3 reports to his masters that the mediators are Jedi. The room in which Qui-Gon and Kenobi are waiting fills with gas and they are attacked by Battle Droids. After cutting down the droids the climb into an escape pod and escape to Nabboo's surface.

After landing on Naboo it isn't long Before they meet up with JarJar Binks, who has been exiled by the Gungans. After saving Kenobi's life the three of them travel to the Gungan's fortress and meet with their Leader, Boss Nass. he agrees to lend them a sub to travel to Theed in, after a little persuasion from Qui-Gon.

Upon arrival at Theed, the two Jedi and Jar-Jar attempt to rescue Amidala, and thanks to (There are two different possibilities, either Ric Ollie pilots them out or...) Artoo repairing an electrical problem in her ship manage to escape to Tatooine. The blue guards similar to the Emporer's Red ones make an appearence.

During the escape the ship suffers much damage and crash-lands in the Tatooine desert. Ric Ollie and Kenobi stay behind to start on repairs, while Qui-Gon, Amidala (In disguise as Padme), and Jar-Jar head off to Mos-Espa. Artoo, (Owned by Padme, apparently) leads them to a junk and parts shop, run by Watto.

While in the shop, Qui-Gon stumbles accross Anakin, who is a slave to Watto. Qui-Gon senses how powerful he is, but for some reason Watto refuses to give them new parts or to allow Anakin to leave, even after Qui-Gonn attempts a Jedi Mind trick, which doesn't work on Watto.

Qui-Gon & Co. return to Anakins hovel and meet his mother, Shmi. Over dinner their predicament is discussed, and it is decided the best way to help everyone is to use Padme's money to enter Anakin into the Pod race (The other possibility is Qui-Gon sells Watto the rest of the ship to pay for the entry ).

Meanwhile, Darth Sidious is plotting to kill the Jedi and the Queen. High on a balcony overlooking Coruscant, he talks to Darth Maul over a holographic network.

Also at this point C3PO makes an appearence as Anakins pet project. (I'm not sure when 3PO is powered up, but from looking at his action figure card dialogue there should be some funny scenes with Artoo, "What you do mean naked?" and "My parts are showing? Oh my goodness!" )

Anakin enters the Pod Race (Run by a leaner, younger Jabba). He is the only human who can control the Pods and despite having entered before, he has never finished. Despite the reigning champion Sebulba (The laughing lizard in goggles at the trailers end) sabotaging his Pod, Anakin goes on to win, and using the winnings from either a bet with Watto or from the race itself, pays for the repairs to Padme's ship. Soon after Anakin gets into a fight and there is a hint of the Dark-Side in him, which Qui-Gon warns him about.

Darth Maul has followed the Jedi to Tatooine. While the Pod Race was on his probe droids searched for the Jedi. He ambushes the group at Padme's ship and is eventually beaten off the edge off a cliff by Qui-Gon.

When the Jedi and Co. arrive on Coruscant, they are met by by Naboo representitive Senator Palpatine and Galactic Senate Chancellor Valorum. There the group seperates, with the queen headed to the Galactic Senate set on convincing the congress to authorize the Republic military to provide aid in the liberation of Naboo, while Qui-Gon and Kenobi set off to bring Anakin to the Jedi council, hoping to receive their approval to train him in the Force.

The Jedi meet Anakin, and eventually forbid him to be trained by Qui-Gon or Kenobi. Qui-Gon disagrees and decides to train Anakin, with or without the Council's approval. After the meeting Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan meet again with Yoda concerning the boys future.

QUI-GON: He is the chosen one... you see it in him.

YODA: Clouded is this boy's future. His youth masks his fate.

QUI-GON: I will train him, then. I take Anakin as my Padawan learner.

YODA: An apprentice you have, Qui-Gon. Not wise to take on a second.

QUI-GON: Obi-Wan is ready...

OBI-WAN: I am ready to face the trials!

YODA: Ready so early, are you? What know you of ready?

Against the Jedis' wishes, the Queen decides she must return to Naboo to face Sidious' invasion force with her people. Jar Jar takes them all to the sacred hiding place of the Gungans. Padme reveals she is the Queen in disguise. The Queen and Boss Nass form an alliance.

The Republic Troops assemble at the palace, and the battle between against the Numudians begins. Battle Droids and Tanks swarm around the palace engaging the Republic forces. Qui-Gonn and Kenobi stand deflecting fire back at the battle droids.

In the palace Throne Room, Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, and 4 council members (not Jedi Council) watch the battle commencing on a huge viewscreen on the wall. Darth Maul enters, and the Jedi with Padme and troops stumble on him on their way from the hanger. The Jedi ignite their lightsabers as Battle Droids enter the hanger.

Meanwhile, Anakin has been hiding in a Naboo fighter while the Battle Droids attack. He fires at them but accidently starts the fighters engines, and it begins to take off. The ship heads towards to Fedaration Battleship above Naboo, and is attacked by droid fighters. While battling the fighters Anakin accidently fires shots into theBattleship's main reactor room, causing it to explode from the inside.

While this has been going on, the two Jedi have been dueling with Darth Maul. The fight moves from the hanger room into the power genarator. Qui-Gon is wounded by Maul after becoming destracted, and Kenobi lunges at him in a rage. After a very one sided battle, (With Kenobi slicing Maul's saber clean in half) Maul is forced over a ledge and falls to his death (Or does he?). Ob-Wan rushes over to Qui- Gon, and promises to teach Anakin about the Force.

Back at the battle, fedaration tanks advance upon the Gungan army and the two forces engage each other. Somehow, with a combination of JarJar's clumsiness and the destruction of the Battleship, the Gungans win.

Later, at the funeral of Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan promises Anakin he will be a Jedi. The Jedi Council are present as well. Yoda looks up to Mace Windu. Yoda says, in reference to Darth Maul, "Always two there are. No more, no less. Master and Apprentice." Mace Windu replies, "But which was destroyed, the Master or the Apprentice?"
